When Kita Billabong was founded one of the key goals was to create a bilingual environment where children could be exposed to both English and German at a native level, ensuring that English is not just spoken at home but also integrated into everyday life at the kita.
The original founders of Kita Billabong worked diligently to foster an inclusive community, and we continue to uphold these values and principles today. Parent participation is crucial for our kita to run smoothly and efficiently. Parents are expected not only to take on various tasks but also to be a part of decision-making in regard to a variety of aspects of the kita.
Kita Billabong has three board members, along with several parent officers who take on leadership roles that support the community in a variety of ways. All parents are expected to take on supporting roles at the daycare center. These tasks, which are meant to guarantee adequate education and care for the children, may include communication, technical tasks, financial matters, cleaning, babysitting, and more.
Because of the small number of children, parents, families and teachers work closely together to provide an excellent educational setting. We are proud of the family atmosphere and believe it is very important in creating an open and inclusive environment between parents, teachers and children.
