English speaking teacher needed!

Kita Billabong, located in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, is a diverse and inclusive English-German bilingual daycare center dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for children aged 1.5 to 6. We are a vibrant parent-run kita (Elterninitiative) and we are currently seeking a qualified English-speaking educator to join our passionate team. 

About Us:

At Kita Billabong, we believe in fostering independence and curiosity in children through exploration and play. Our immersion approach ensures that children engage with both German and English languages daily, following the “one person, one language” principle. As a parent-run initiative, our supportive Vorstand management team works closely with educators to create an empowering and collaborative environment for staff, parents, and children alike.

Position: English-Speaking Educator

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging, child-centered activities that promote holistic development.

• Collaborate with a bilingual team to support our immersion approach.

• Observe, document, and assess children’s progress, tailoring support to individual needs.

• Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children

Qualifications:

• A qualification in early childhood education. 

• Fachkraft or Quereinsteiger, recognised by the Berlin Senate. 

• Native-level proficiency in English and minimum B1 German.

• Experience in bilingual education or a strong interest in immersion methodologies.

• Passion for working with young children and supporting their individual development.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
